Youth for COP 2026 : Opening Ceremony

The third edition of Youth for COP 2026 officially commenced on 25 July 2026, bringing together around 400 young participants from 110 countries. The Opening Ceremony featured inspiring addresses by Aditya Pundir (The Climate Reality Project India & South Asia), Sanjay Vashist (Climate Action Network South Asia), Aurelie Kalinga Njimngou (African Climate Reality Project), Karen Aguilera (The Climate Reality Project Australia-Pacific), Thalison Correa (The Climate Reality Project Brazil), and Ari Adipratomo Wijanarko (The Climate Reality Project Indonesia), who shared insights on climate negotiations, the importance of the Global South, lessons from COP30, and priorities for COP31. The ceremony also included an inspiring experience-sharing session by an alumnus from the previous edition, followed by an interactive walkthrough of the Youth for COP Learning Management System (LMS) by Geetika Srivastava, Program Manager at The Climate Reality Project India & South Asia. Participants were introduced to the programme structure, learning modules, discussion forums, assessments, and certification process before the session concluded with an engaging Q&A.
